Why do you #StandWithTHIRTEEN?
I #StandWithTHIRTEEN, because my mom told me that when I was able to walk and strong enough to turn the dial on the old television set, I would turn the channel to THIRTEEN. I was not only entertained; I was learning. What I saw was kids like me and very same diversity I saw in outside world. As I grew older, I watched Nature and Nova too. My mother and I would sometime ls watch Master Theatre together. There was an episode on In the Life I saw once; I don’t remember what was on but I remember a sense of not feeling alone– Again, THIRTEEN was including me, a black gay boy that grew up poor but that didn’t matter because THIRTEEN has been all inclusive my entire life.
