Another Valentine’s Day and I am single…

You know?.. that’s OK!

I love seeing couples on their dates, seeing people picking out the right card, the right box of chocolates, the most beautiful bouquet for that special someone. There was a time in my life where I resented them for having what they have even though I had no idea if what they had was meant to be forever.

So, this love that is in the air during this time of year; it is a great thing to notice and appreciate but then it leaves just as quick as it came. Or maybe I just stop noticing it?

The truth is, on any given day, someone is sharing, or preparing to share, a special moment with someone. I want to hold on to that love is in the air feeling. When I am out and about I think I’ll make an effort to acknowledge in my heart, to myself, expressions of love when I am witness to them, and appreciate it for what is; something beautiful.

I accept, today, that I have a condition. It’s called being single.

I’m not going to try and make more money to cure it.
I’m not going to gym to cure it.
I’m not going to degrade myself, be held hostage, or chase a pipedream to cure it.

I will, however, continue to try my best at being the best me I can be. In doing that, then someday, maybe, my condition will go into remission. Until then …
