As you have probably already heard, the Occupy Wall Street protesters made a concerted effort to occupy the actual Wall Street this morning. Today marks the two-month anniversary of the Occupy movement, and this morning’s march was part of the larger International Day of Action organized by the protesters. The police quickly blocked off almost every street surrounding the area and would only let people who worked on Wall Street through after they flashed their IDs.
Then, the police set off some of those high-pitched sirens that make your insides feel all weird before arresting anyone who wouldn’t leave the street. They were swinging clubs at women, old people—just about everyone in sight. All the protesters and press who weren’t arrested hauled ass back to Zucotti Park and are currently occupying the shit out of it. We’ll be updating this blog with more photos/news throughout the day.
