Some might say that I shouldn’t have MedicAid and to just let me die.
Some might say that I shouldn’t have a home that is paid for by taxpayers and that I should be left to fend for myself on the streets.
Some might say that I don’t deserve to be in a return-to-work program that is funded by taxpayers (99%) so that I may someday relieve the burden off my fellow citizens and provide for my own needs.
Some might say that I don’t deserve a grant to further my education so that I may have the skills that are in demand.
Some might say that they don’t care and who do I think I am…
Who am I?
I am Gay…
I am Black…
I am American…
I am the 99%!
If you look at the pictures of Occupy Times Square with all the lights and the billboards you may come to the conclusion that on Wall Street is where they steal our money… Times Square is where they flaunt it in our faces and get us to give them more of our money!
We need to start boycotting!
They want to control our economy… Let’s show them how much we can affect their bottom line. You really don’t need those new shoes (don’t you have 20 pairs already), or new jeans (aren’t the same styles you wore in 90s back in-style) , or that phone (didn’t you just upgrade 6 months ago), you don’t need that new dress (what about the one you only wore once, wear it again). You don’t need that car (the one you have runs just fine), we all need to get fit (WALK or BIKE to work - save money on gas and public transportation), Stop giving your money to big fast-food chains (it’s cheaper/healthier/smarter to make burgers & fries at home), if you need to shop, purchase necessities at local small businesses (STOP overspending on useless stuff/junk!!)
What we need is each other.
Solidarity!!
We are the 99%!!
